Having problems with turnigy 40 amp ESC

I have a 40amp Turnigy plush BESC connected to a turnigy 35-36 outrunner. When ever i connect the battery it make about 8 beeps then it gets silent for 5 seconds then does 8 beeps again and it never stops. Im not sure what is going on whether it is in programming mode or what but i would just like to plug in the battery and fly. And no matter what position the stick is in it still beeps, unless i press the throttle cut button for a few seconds then it makes only a few beeps, and when i throttle up it doesnt do anything.

If you are using a Futaba transmitter reverse the throttle channel.

How can it be backwards, I thought it wouldn't run at all

Do you have a Futaba? If so it has to be reversed on the throttle channel.

The other thing you should do is make sure the trim is all the way down and that the servo travels are all the way up.

My guess is the trims.

On futaba it needs to be set to the reverse setting. I use Plush ESC's and the only problem I had is the ESC would not arm if the Throttle trim as in Middle of trim zone. I had to move it to lowest setting

In the first post you said all you were getting were beeps, so how can you know the throttle is "backwards"?
Unless you meant that the beeps now only happen at full stick whereas before they happened at low stick. But I would not describe that as the throttle being backwards.
"Throttle" implies that you have a motor that is running.

So is it working now, or still just beeping?

Let go through it all slowly.

1 - The throttle trims should all be set to zero.

2 - The stick movement is that moving the stick away from you opens the throttle.

3 - It is an ideosynchracy of Futaba transmitters that the setting for the throttle servo (even though there is really no throttle servo) must be set to reversed (not normal) for the stick movement to work right. If you don't reverse the throttle servo, the throttle is at wide open with the stick nearest you and closed when it is push full away from you.

So if you have a Futaba and have not reversed the throttle servo setting, the ESC is seeing the stick as being at full throttle and is going into the ESC programming mode.

So you want to set all throttle trims to zero or centered, reverse the throttle servo, close the throttle (pull it towards you all the way) and then plug the ESC in.

If that does not work, tell us the model of your transmitter.

OK I have a theory, Since it is backwards maybe he has the ESC wire plugged into the servo backwards.

Double check that you did not plug the ESC in backwards to the receiver. You have it on channel 3? Also what futaba radio do you have, If it is a computer radio, you have any mixes on? Are the rest of the servo's working normal?

My Turnigy Plush 30A beeps constantly if the throttle is not at zero when you plug the battery in. Set your throttle to zero and your throttle trim to zero and it should then arm. After it arms then trim throttle up untill it starts then trim down a few and you should be good to go.
