How fast for real trouble

Well, I drive a Toy minivan now with my RC toys. It is stealth and will cruise at 80 mph w/o fuzz noticing. But in my youth I was a rally driver with a 1962 XKE who got penalized for a checkpoint at 162 mph. I am now 68 yr old and build RC cars, boats, cars, and planes that will do real 100+ USA mph ). I want to buy a radar unit to test real speeds from 0 to 300+. Am I dreaming??

Rick was BACKING away from me at 117mph to get the reading. Kathy was pertified, but recovered.

BTW, the AMA President and a few others emailed me the next day to offer bail...

Oh please not all of our desert roads are straight. Just because you Northern boys don't know how to straighten the curves means we aren't as good as drivers. I never met a crooked road I couldn't straighten out.

I did Lombard Street in San Francisco at 48 mph. You ever blow a tennis shoe at that kind of speed? It ain't pretty. Ok I made that up.

Rick,

Next time I'm in CA you'll have to show me where that nice little twisty road is. I'm guessing that there is no chance you could block off 5 or 10 miles of it so we could have some fun?
