scale rotor head - 450 size blade grips
Hi,
I'm trying to make a low cost multiblade head for my Twinn Rexx and I just came across the vario 3 blade tail rotor hub with 5mm bore and I was thinking I could use it as a main rotor. Looking at the dimensions of the components it looks like the standard 450 blade grips have no chance of fitting on as it uses 8 O.D. bearings and the hub requires bearings with 6mm I.D. and there's no such thing as 6x8x... ball bearings. So, I'm after some 450 size blade grips that will fit 6x10x... ball bearings or any other blade grip that will fit 450 size blades in with spacers. Anyone know where I can get these? Why not just get the Align 3 blade head? got to be a lot cheaper than anything from Vario.

I think you're right there, Paddy, I forgot I would need a swashplate aswell and that would drive up the cost.

Lightning Heli and Heliartist make reasonably priced multiblade heads.

Yup! Get the HeliArtist 3 bladed head for your TwinnRexx instead. They come with swash plate follower and the swash plate. Get the HeliArtist 3 bladed instead (The Lightning...don't really like it as compare to HeliArtist)

 Think I'll get the heliartist one - flying-hobby doesn't seem to have it instock  They do have the 4 blade one instock though! Are there any tandems that run 4 blade rotors in real life? |

Yes... there do exist 4 bladed tandem heli. I saw it somewhere that I think it is a prototype of Chinook with 4 bladed per head.
