New Switchback 3D
Finally finished my Switchback 3D with retracts and it might actually warm up enough this weekend for a first flight.
I'm curious if any of you guys are using an Azarr antenna. Space under the canopy is a little tight, and I'm not getting a good range check with the antenna so close to all the electronics. Wish I had installed it before the covering was finished. I don't have any problems if I hang it out the side. Anybody with suggestions on placement? Mike |

Sorry I cant help you with any antenna advise, but I must say I love your covering job Looks AWSOME, How did you make the star patterns??

I had the same problem with my azaar. I normally have no problems, but have been getting bad signaling off of them at 200~300 feet. I am not sure but it could be some increased frequency traffice where I fly. I am pulling them out and going with standard 36" JR antenna wire just in case. Heck no, hang it out the bottom if you want. Anythings fair game. Love the covering scheme by the way. I'm a vet [Desert Storm/ Desert Shield] and it does me proud to see the red, white and blue

I have used the Azarr antenna in my SB3D without problems. Just taped it INSIDE to the fuselage side just above the wing. Rcvr on opposite side to rear of wing bay. Used with GWS R4P receiver and also with Berg 5*DSP.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Kenny - The covering is all SoLite. I printed out some star patterns until I got the size right, and used them for a template. Pulled the backing off some white film and laid it over the printed page. Then just used a ruler and a sharp x-acto knife. Took less time than I thought. Mike |
