What's the furthest or highest you've gone with your Binary? I'm asking cos I'm really afraid to lose control of the plane by getting out of range with the 604 Fasst Receiver. I had to disengage from a really nice big thermal earlier today cos I was quite afraid of getting out of range.

I don't really have a good field nearby my home, so I haven't run into that limitation yet. I'm more afraid of landing on a busy street than I am of going out of range. When my transmitter comes back from the shop (I'm having the momentary switch on my 12FGA moved from the right to the left...) I'm going to make a point of driving a bit further to push my limits a bit more. Probably head up to Eldorado park.

Believe me, if my failsafe kicks in, I'll post a message!

What size servos did you use on your B-900? My 3.7g servos sit high inside the pod, which the servo arms stick out above the opening; so when the hatch is placed back on the pod, it's not sitting flush because of the servo arms sticking out.

I'm think that GWS Pico STD is the shortest "popular" servo. Try it.

I'm using Tahmazo servos which seem to be similar to the d47. Just epoxy it down and it sits nicely without hitting the canopy.

I'm very desapointed in You! You buying planes now?

Guess what guys... my b900 is now in a few pieces. Had a horizontal stab failure on launch. The b900 went into the ground hard, breaking the wing right in the joint, and of course the boom broke right where i made the hole for the elevator pull string.

Found the source of the failure and it was the covering film on the bottom of the horizontal stab which gave way. I've always thought that it was a weak point but never thought that it will give way. Lesson learnt.

I'm also taking this opportunity to sand the LE for the H stab. lose maybe a gram while i add a bit more to repair the broken boom.

Will keep you guys updated on the repair if/when it happens.

Mine broke there, too... but on a hard landing. So it got put right before it had a chance to cause a catastrophe like you experienced.

Hi does anyone know how strong the peak hobbies binary 900 is? and would it suit a beginner pilot?Im thinking of getting one as they appear to be good value for money and with the apogee sport not around at the moment it could be a good plane to learn on???

I started dlg flying with the b900. Broke it on a h-stab failure (oversight in doing a pre-flight), repaired it easily and got it flying again.

It's a nice simple dlg, but after flying a full sized DLG, I seem to enjoy the extra weight more.

Binary-900 used the MIC tech. as same as 1.5m Binary-III constructure.That is Core wing in molded , Durable and light.
By the way, Peak-hobby updated the B-900 V2.0 .That is Aileron type mini Dlg.Really funny and High perfomance.

i still need to build my first one.... i will be soon, after seeing some dlg in action yesterday i need to..
