in my binary 900 V2, the ailerons where not precut. so you can use it only R/E.
the other advantage to use diferent values of flap for throw, thermal ....
wich can maybe help.
by contruction the flaperon version looks to have the same diehdral as the R/E version. as a newbie when i build my binary 900 with aileron, i kept the dihedral from the manual.... but i think it can be less if you have ailerons.

for a small DLG, i think the best performance configuration looks to be a simple R/E. (less weight and better wing aerodynamcly)
if you look the 1M DLg market, there is various with only R/E (neon, elf, mini from PCM....)

but for my "way of life" i prefer a flaperon version, wich give you much more possibilities....

you can also built it R/E and add later the ailerons (as many people who had the first version did)...

hi

if you did no buy the battery from Peak-hobby (wich feet perfectly), you can have a look to the nimh 180mah (i'm not exactly sure of the capacity) wich is used in a losi car.
now i use a 2S lipo 220 mah with a regulador (work also without regulador with spektrum RX and D47 servos)

i'm not at home, but when i come back home, i will give you the reference, capacity and dimensions of my packs.

regards

this one works, but a little bit short in capacity (and expensive)
LOSI LOSB0848

with my 2S 220 mah LIPO + regulador, i can play during more than 2 hours before the regulador tell me to land!!!!

Way back at post 136 of this thread I showed my revised (and still current) pod layout. I used a 250mAh NiMh "viper" pack in front of two D47 servos. I haven't measured the CG location, but it flies well like this w/out any lead.

You can get the battery packs at cheapbatterypacks.com - use their custom pack configurator to build them. Choose the "KAN 250 mAh 1/2AAA" cell.

i was using this one exactly, when the original peak hobby pack was out of charge!

now i'm using lipo 2S 220mah from himodel very cheap no??? and works very nice. i also use them for my small heli 4G6, where i need really a lot of current. they are very good.
this lipo feet very nice in the noise of my binary. i can fly 2 hours without any problem with a 5V regulador.

harry,

are you planning to make a new glider? 1 meter version?

the binary 900 has sometimes problems of skin delamination, but it can be easyly fixed...
it's a really very good glider....

Just finished the test of Binary-III (Deluxe Version), three projects are doing now, maybe finish 1 meter version in the early of 2011.
