I think me meant reflex when he said spoileron. But I did remember from the hood saying it's ke on this newer version is as near perfect as you can get.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'm just over thinking this too much and doing something weird. I'll definitely keep at it till I get it right. When it comes to setting up a plane I'm really picky, the good thing about that is I do end up with some really nice flying planes. The reason I work so hard at this is because I hate flying without mixes and once a plane is set up properly the mixes just aren't necessary. If the only way to get a plane to fly to my satisfaction is by mixing, I just get rid of it and move on.

a little late on this one but I found the pix of my gear.

I fixed the motor mount and wing this morning and took a short vid before the battery died.

Sweet vid, you and them trees are just nuts. Man, I was really hoping you had figured out a new lg setup. Ah well, I'm still looking as well. If I find something I'll be sure to post.

I'm using a 1060 DD @ a little over 300 watts and it's crazy fun. The slofly is good too though, seems to transition from one maneuver to the next a little smoother but I just love the acceleration and power and efficiency of the DD a little better. Motor runs cooler an d better flight times with the DD.

Hope you guys don't mind my posting this here. I don't have a Sabre, but am in the process of scratch building a similar flat profile. I've got an older gforce E400 1200 kv laying around that I'm considering using. My Eagletree is giving me numbers that calc out to a kv of 1263. I've tried a couple of prop runs. A GWS 10 x 4.7 SF gave me 10.82v 290w, and 7936rpm right until it yanked the collet adaptor off the end of the motor shaft. Second prop was a GWS 9x5dd. Yielded 10.9v, 237w, and 10,060rpm. I'm wondering if the 10 x 4.7 gonna be too much for this motor to handle long term? Only flying it will tell for sure. If the 9x5dd is not enough possibly a 10 x 6 dd might do the trick?

I would tend to think the 1060 DD would be a good bet, if the 10x4.7 works well as far as motor temp goes then the 1060 will work better. The DD props tend to be more efficient and easier on motors in my experience. Not saying they are always better, just depends on your flying style. For flat out 3D slofly's are better but for a mix of extreme aerobatics and 3D I prefer the DD props. Of course these are just my personal experience, mostly just try them and watch motor temp and fly what works best for you.

Thanks for the quick reply jet. Kinda what I was thinking on the 10 x 6. It's just I don't have one on hand at the moment. I'll probably fly it with the 2 size props I have on hand and see how goes. Not much flying time left in my season. A lot of my fall work takes most of the best flying days away from me.
