The price gap between a 450 and 500 is preety big. I reckon save your $$ get some more and go for the 600.

jombo, i don't know if it's me, or there is a change in the fashion. but every where i go hear all these people planning to move up to the big birds? either a Raptor, or the 600>700s. am i missing something?? what's wrong with the small birds. I mean these guys i know they have like 2 align trex 250 and 450s. now they want to move to the bigger birds. it makes me feel like i need to get a big bird too.

i ordered a gaui425.. thats 425mm blades
cheap replacement parts and it is advertised a a light weight heli for its size and eats 2x 450 size lipo's.
I will try to keep the weight as low as possible on this one.

On the other hand, my night rig HK450 is an award winning 900grams now. i just flew a lipo to LVC in 5 minutes on it with just some sports flying (it was my most crappy puffmaster lipo, flightmax 25c, so i dont care about abusing him)

I would, but one I find those big birds intimidating, with all that smoke and power, two I don't have access to open areas like you guys have. your very lucky in that sense. that is why i fly these small birds. PITA. but what can i do.
