It was on the backordered list (not too long) and it just shipped. I already have a Mega 16/15/4 in the EZ.

The Medusa will replace the 3100kv Aveox 27/13/3 installed in a Unicorn Wing. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177048

The Mega 16/15/4 is the most popular motor in the Unicorn and why it was my BL choice in the EZ* build thread. The Medusa V2 has similar if not better specs.

I'll be using a PHX-35 or eFlite 40 esc, 25c 3s battery.

I've flown with them inside, however, routing them outside just gets them away from all the cockpit activity. You will get full range either way. With Futaba the receiver is constantly switching back and forth to the antenna wire with the strongest received signal.

Sweeeet! My ez's currently carry the HiMax 2815-2000 w/T-Bird 36 3s 2100. How does the Mega compare to the HiMax?

I can't really say anything for sure because I've never tried one. I have a nice running Himax 2812-0850 outrunner on a Mountain Models Panic 3d plane. However, I do know that the Mega 16/15/4 was the choice for 100' s of Unicorn wing flyers because of long flight times, reduced heat, no thrown magnets, and it would handle 10/12 cell packs and 3/4s lipo packs using 6x4 and 7x4 props.

I was just looking at the specs on the mega 16-15-4, it only has a 25a max?
It is close to the same specs as the Turnigy 2835 2200kv

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner

with a 6x4 it pulls just over 18a on 3s. I know the mega will be a better motor in the long run, but is it realy worth 3x as much?

the himax is a good motor. What kind of amps does it pull with a 6x4 16-17a?
The 2000kv @ 25a would realy scream with a 7" (or maybe even a 8") to get it up to +20a. Hard to fit that on an ez*

I have a 6x5.5 I need to try on my 2835, like to get it over 20a too.

Those are conservative Mega Manufacturer specs; it will handle much more. Is a Mega worth it? Depending on what you are doing it maybe worth 4x as much.

The motor to be looking at now might be the Medusa, plenty of pep and power at only 70g; same weight as the Neu 1105.

paint job

As a complete beginner.....have only flown the EZ* once, live in London, limited spaces to fly in......if I want to paint it the EZ, what paint can I use? I've got the multiplex primer, but what sort of paint to go over the top of this primer? Answers from fellow UK pilots welcome as I need to source the paint here in London.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum!

I've used the Tamiya spray paint (for polycarbonate rc car body shells) on elapor with good results. I think the elapor was primed with prymol. Lots of colours to choose from in the Tamiya range but make sure its the one for polycarbonate, as that paint can flex and doesnt attack the elapor.

next on my list is a bizzard Wanted to run that micro dans 2535kv with a 7x5. looks to be close to 40a (on paper). 38g motor!

The dang blizzard was designed for the slope, so sticking a motor in it needs tail weight. a 38g motor pulling 400w should lessen the weight on the tail.

I would put one on the ez*, but I think it would rip the thing apart. 200-250w is fine for a stock ez* I would go for a striker or funjet if I wanted to go faster

Hey fellas, did you see that US Airways Airbus ditch it in the Hudson River a few minutes ago. They supposedly hit a flock of geese leaving La Guardia airport bound for Charlotte NC and the pilot did an awesome job of putting it down in the Hudson River. On the news right now

Its very odd that it went down because they lost an engine if that is in fact what happened and there wasnt more involved. An Airbus just like a 737 is more then capable of flight with just one engine. Odd. Look forward to the details as they emerge and thank god everyone made it out safe.

Hey Tek,

Have you tried to call the Fire department and say your pet is stuck up in a tree?

Did it move again? Maybe another airbus can make a low pass for you and blow it out
