ok, gotta ask..where did you get the foam cutter? The plane is coming along nicely and your build style has peaked my interest.

ATIS...got the cutter from Harbor Freight...the one I have works very well. Just checked...they've lowered the price down to $80...I paid $90...

Very interesting, and quite cool looking.

Out of curiosity.. any reason for using blue/pink foam over the other?

Thanks Rubr…the pink is 2” thick and the blue 4”…I needed the extra thickness between the #2 & #3 formers…

tail feathers

I had an idea at work today (seems I spend a lot of time thinking about building models while at work) why not use one of my old surveying instruments to line up my tail feathers. Eight years ago one of my employees bought a theodolite (not this one) on eBay that had been used by the Boeing Aircraft Company to line up their machinery in one of their factories. So I pulled out my Wild T1A (Swiss made) theodolite and placed it on my table…leveled her up…then place a mirror across my shop. Placing the jig next to me…then I line up the centerline of the jig with the cross hire…tack it down then place the fuselage in the jig and lined it up…works great. Was able to level the horizontal stabilizer and plumb the vertical stabilizer before gluing..

Hey Wom, Is that an old Mayline drafting table under that FW? Now wish I'd kept mine.
