Question
Cm Pro Discus HELP

Hi, Can any one tell me how to convert my CM Pro Discus CS glider in to a electric powered one.

Where should i cut the nose off and how do i calculate this, do i need to think about side and/or down thrust ?

Also do i need a geared motor, what size ect...
?

Do not "calculate" too much, it's more tinkering with fun.

Motor choice:
- if you want brushless motors: an outrunner will be cheapest solution, you have a big fuselage so large diameter is no problem.
- if you want brushed motor: a gear is best

Size of cut: see what kind of spinner you have and cut nose accordingly.
See this link for a good motor -prop recommendation:

Down and side trust: forget about side trust, down trust is also not that important with this kind of plane. I would make the spinner fit the streamline of the fuselage perfectly for nice optic. If plane tend to rise when motor on, just program your transmitter with a touch of 'down' that comes in automatically when motor in ON.

Success, Jurgen.

Mate cutting a hole in da nose..... Choose the size spinner you need and purchase it.... now take the spinner and trace around the spinner on a piece of paper and cut the hole out of the paper (light card stock here) or measure the outside diameter of the spinner and make a circle in some card stock approx 1 mm to small and stick the nose of the fusealage throught the hole trace around the hole, and cut, and sand to fit the spinner that you are using. cutting the hole a little smaller allows you to adjust for size.

Once again thanks for the replies.
I know what your saying with the paper/card thing, but how do you know its square to the incidents of the wing ?
Cheers Craig.

If you really want the motor axis to be in line (or whatever angle you want) with wing angle, then you can measure it with the Robart incidense meter (or more expensive electronic stuff). If you are interested in good tuning better buy:
