Fly-In
3rd Annual T.I.N.Y. March 6-8th 2009

Itís almost here, the third annual

Fly-In and Challenge!!!

Angelo RC Inc. is proud to present the third annual Texas Indoor New Years Fly-In and Challenge. The last two years have been great events, I know it will only be better this year.

With one of the biggest venues offered for an indoor event in the Southwest, and our famous Texas hospitality, this promises to again be a lot of fun for pilots of all levels. There will be on premises concessions, and plenty of pit area with ample electrical outlets. The floor of the coliseum is 100í by 200í with a 65í minimum ceiling rig height. We will have a 16oz/3s limit on all models, carbon fiber rotor blades (main or tail) on helicopters are prohibited, and AMA membership is required to fly. We can honor AMA parkflyers insurance at this event as well. If you have lost your card, I can verify you through the web if you know your AMA number. Anyone I can't verify, will have to join to be able to fly per AMA rules! Please understand this is out of my hands. The landing fee will be $10 per day which will include 5 raffle tickets. We will keep with the same format we used last year, and save the bulk of the flying time for open flying. This is going to be some serious fun, so donít be the guy wishing you had come, get in your car and drive to San Angelo Coliseum, 50 E. 43rd St, San Angelo, TX. click here for map.

We will have the contests, and have expanded to three days of flying this year as well. Needless to say, there will be tons of open flying for all to enjoy.

T.I.N.Y. F3P Challenge

On Saturday, we will having two pattern contests starting at 6pm. Entry Fee is $10 for either contest, Awards will be given will be given for 1st places. These will be F3P-A (expert) and F3P-C (novice) contests for pilots of both skill levels to enjoy. If we pick up a sponsor for this event, we may add prizes/money as well! Anyone interested in sponsoring it, call me! You can download the entry form here. Fill out and email it to me here.
Download F3P-C rules and maneuvers here. And a F3P-A schedule here and the F3P-A aresti here. We are entertaining the idea of also having an F3P-D contest if there is enough interest. If anyone is interested, let me know.

T.I.N.Y. Freestyle Challenge!!!

On Saturday evening following the F3P contests, we will have a freestyle event that will be along the lines of the E.T.O.C. so you will need a 2 minute routine and soundtrack. It will be a great opportunity for skilled pilots to compete for prizes in a perfect indoor setting. We want to invite any and all professional flyers to come compete in this event, you won't find a better place to fly, or nicer folks than we have in Texas. Entry form is here, and email it to me here!

Lodging

I have negotiated a group rate of $62.95 at the Inn of the Conchos. This is where most of you stayed the last few years, and they are very close to the Coliseum. They have a hot breakfast, high speed wireless, and a Cafe and a Bar on the property as well. Ask for the "TINY R/C Fly In" rate, and it covers the 5th - 8th of March. This rate is for up to 4 persons per room, and you can have a room with 2 queen, or 1 king sized bed. Smoking rooms are available. They require a 24 hour notice for cancellation.

tiny

My son Johnathan and I made our first tiny event last year and had a blast. We will be coming back again this year. Is the basic pattern the same this year as last?

JJ, I hope to have the contest details up this weekend, it has been a little crazy!

I do remember Johnathan and look forward to seeing him compete again. It is always cool to see the "younguns" get into the hobby.
