Which issue of Model Aviation? My Jan 09 just got here and there's nothing on page 10 about this.

...and while were at it, do we have any idea how we are going to use the Airtronics Receivers in a non-2.4-friendly sailplane fuze?

Sorry I wasn't clearer. I've been anxiously following what little info there is about the 10 channel 2.4 TX as well as the one I want and that's the Stylus 2.4 module.

However, I am still concerned about how we are going to use the Airtonics RX (the current one is supposed to work with these new units coming out) in a 2.4 non-friendly fuze like a CF weave Graphite and the like.

2.4 will be great but not if it requires a complete change of one's hanger to use it.

Meanwhile..

Stylus owners are still patiently awaiting the long-promised 2.4 module.

And many of us finally got tired of the endless wait for anything current from Airtronics and move on to JR, who is current and does support soaring.

I met with Mike Greensheilds at the Chicago Expo, They had the new SD-10G and a proto type 2.4 module for the Stylus on display. They are hoping for febuary march release for both. A neat thing on the SD-10G is it only uses a 6 cell pack making it even lighter.

I was urging Mike to come out with some sort of package deal on recievers, Like buy 4 and 5th is free, something to get people to change over. I have alot of recievers and would cost a arm and a leg to change them all.

The Airtronics 8 channel RX's have the 2 antennas. How are we going to reliable place these so they work with a fuze loaded with CF. The most reliable setups I've seen are with the RX's that support satellites and then the placement of 4 antennas around the fuze like wiskers.

Again, replacing my hanger to support 2.4 is out of the question.

Dito, my feeling the same. Sworn oath to Airtronics by the late 80's. Have been on JR for 3 years plus and "Lovin' It!"

As a side note...Can the 9303 do all that a Vision could for sailplanes?

and more thing, more on point...will the new Airtronics be able to do that as well? that is the most important question for me. I,too, tend to look at my planes when flying and care little for the aesthetics of the Tx, and certainly would never choose a "beauty" over the necessary functionality.

[QUOTE]

No it cannot. There are several things the Vision can do over the 9303.

1) Such a simple program menu of 5 collums of options as yes/no/how much or little.

2) In flight battery swap in seconds as pack is modular.

3) One can buy one now for just the shipping and tax of a 9303. (Unfair, I know. )

I know there are other, but these are just off the top of me head.

Still, the 9303 is far more powerful w/ many more options than our beloved Visions and Pre-Visions. More flight modes, more memory, Transfer and back up options. Real Expo and on and on.
