Cool
Pipmed out my rusler

Heres my rustler, i got it from a friend, it was the old Xl1 version and looked not so cool with some new shocks, wheels, a body and a bumper, it looks alot more mean see the comparison.

all is left is to put some good electronics in, sadly its still running on the old xl1, with a 8 cell, it rips pretty bad, but gets hot quickly, looking to put at least Xl5 in it or something around 10t range.
thanks for looking

Got to ebay and look up "EZ Run 13T"
I've got that setup in mine and it was only about sixty bucks and runs like a house fire

Go to my vimeo page if you want to get an idea of the boost in performance

http://www.vimeo.com/user335564/videos One thing to keep in mind though is that you'll have to switch over to the vxl steel gears. Not a lot of money (about twenty five bucks total) but worth the effort. I run the bejesus out of mine and haven't managed to break anything yet.

I'm using 23/78
I tried 32/78 but it just took away too much power. I get tons of speed from 3s lipo but it's got so much power it's hard to keep it going in a straight line, although the wheelies are on demand.
My son has a 5700kv Castle setup and mine is the 13T EZ which is a 3300kv motor. He can outrun me but my truck is more driveable. His also cost around 200 bucks and mine was sixty
8 cell nimh works well but so does 2s lipo and I get longer run times. One of the best things I did was to switch everything over to Deans ultra plugs. If yours has one of those junk Tamiya plugs that might even be why your motor is getting so hot.

Randall - on your setup, did you get the 35a ESC? or something different? I'm seeing a few different options there and would rather not 'over spend'. If the 35a ESC will be plenty enough for my stampede, then I'm going to stick with that package.

Thanks for the information! I've been waiting for an inexpensive alternative for my bashing truck.

I thought it over about going brushless. and i think ill hold my horses for a bit. i mean the cheapest BL system on ebay is at least 80$ shipped, then i will have to get the VXL gears another 25$. i will get some 12T esc and run my speed jem on it, it will be plenty to fit my needs.
