Greg, several months ago I sold my OPS 1.20 fourstroke and 30 MAXI, my MAXI had a Delorto diaphragm carb on it. I put a Davis SoundMaster In Cowl muffler on the MAXI, at idle it was super quiet, the prop swishing was louder than the exhaust.

I am enquiring with Mantua Model in Italy as to whether the 1.20 Four Stroke is still available new.

I assumed production had ceased many years ago. Are they still made, or are Mantua just selling off old stock? If I get a reply I will post the answer here.

The copy engine page hyperlinked in an earlier post dates from 2000. A long time ago ...

Hello,

Mantua / OPS build new Engines!
They sell there old and some new construction like the OPS90 Bimetal.

This engine and this Picture is from me!

also the Kaiserspeeder is from me!

Its NOT from Mr. I-Love-jets!

i order my OPS engines from Alex Noller (Noller Modellbau), Germany.
the OPS 90 Bimetal costs ~600$ with pipe.
OPS says 6,5PS by 26000 rpm
I get with a 8x13 21.500 rpm

sry for my bad english
greetings from Paderborn Germany

Hi to everybody.
I confirm that about all engines mentioned and spares are still available at Mantuamodel OPS factory. Including 120 4strokes , not old but 2008 production. In the old building OPS Agrate Brianza were available several parts of the 120 4strokes, left in a corner for long time. With new property of OPS , the moulded cases were worked and a lot of components were made from "0" for the actual 120 sold in a very nice wooden box with silenced muffler. Everyone interested can contact the OPS distributor of their country. In case of no distributors available please contact Mantua directly.
Best regards to all
Max

The relief in the cover faces toward the cylinder head.

Yes photo#1. That flat spot is to give clearance for the piston at the bottom of its stroke.

Hi Guys got a question,

I have a OPS .60 super SLA RCA. Can it be modified for speed? I have no problems with changing the timing but I'm not sure that the conrod is up to the challenge. Would the front induction be able to supply enough fuel/air for 20+krpm operation?

Thanks for the help

The Super is a great pattern engine. In that the ports are a little small to help with the keeping the velocity of the inlet charge high just prior to entering the cylinder. This means that they are actually a little too small for speed application. The rod will work. The front induction is now the in thing with full wave tuned pipes. In the past the cutout in the crankshaft for the inlet has been the Achilles heal of the design for any real RPM.

That's my take on it, your milage may differ.

What class of "Speed" are you looking to enter?

All the best,
Konrad
