Ripmax Flying Legends Mustang.

This is one sweet little foamy. If it flies as good as it looks then I will be one happy bunny.

Thanks to tjd models for fast shipping. Ordered yesterday at 11am received today at noon.
It arrived nicely packed and all parts are in excellent condition.

sweet i have the spit but am having problems with the ailerons as the pushrod outer filled with glue. had to strip it out and am having trouble getting the new one in. May well go for a two servo set up instead as it would prove much easier! we will see. good luck with your mustang.

Bad luck on the glue in the sleeve

Got the Mus together tonight, pretty straight forward. Put some epoxy around the Aileron & elevator horns and a little around the sleeves where they exit the wing & fuse. Used an EZ connector on the Ele horn and will do the same on the ailerons when I get some more.
Used HXT 9g servos and CoG was easy to achieve with my 2250 3S lipo.
Will set my throws tomorrow and I may get in a flight.

Hi Mustang.
Well your not alone. Setting up the throws today and found the sleeve around the wire was loose. This caused binding and the ailerons would not center back. A complete nightmare .

So decided to go for the servos in the wing as you mentioned. It's a simple upgrade and turned out well.

Cool... what motor are you running, Paul? What kind of performance do you expect?

I had no problem achieving the 12mm throw with the stock horns.

Smoke.
The BL motor is supplied as part of the kit already installed. I've not taken it out to inspect.
I have run it up at home and I think it will give a fair performance with the 9X5 prop. If not, I think a Eflite 450 or equivalent would be a perfect set up.

Maidened the Mustang today and she's a keeper. Good performance from the stock motor and prop.
I used 2250mah lipo. Dialled in 30% expo on ail and ele. She is as good as my E flite P47 and Sea Fury. No nasty surprises.

I hope they add more models to the Flying Legend series.

Hi Simon.
Theres no info in the manual about the motor. The ESC is 20amp.
The motor looks small but it certainly does the job.

It looks like this kit is also available without motor and ESC for 39.99. Which in my opinion is fantastic value.

Heres some vid from the maiden today.
Ripmax FL Mustang. (2 min 22 sec)

It looks like a really nice plane and all... but check out the plethora of domestically available and fine flying P-51Ds before you go through the expense of importing one.
