MacFoil - Airfoil program for Mac computers

This is not a new product - Dave's been putting out versions of MacFoil for years - but I just wanted to call your attention to it if you're a MacHead like me.

http://dogrocket.home.mindspring.com/macfoil.html

Very simple program, perfect for creating airfoil templates and doing eyeball comparisons of various airfoils. You can tweak thickness/camber/washout and set up your templates with spar and kerf and ramp specifications.

It's shareware, but it's cheap so go ahead and register if you're going to use it more than once or twice.

Happy Building, Macsters!

Reed...I'm the original MacAddict and I want to add my support for this program. It is definitely a must for Mac users. Simple, intuitive and great results.

Macs are great..

Omnigraffle is another great program, comes as a trial version and a pro version for 10.5 and 10.4 (ask me if you need the version that works on OS10.4) Its great for drawing specific plans in great detail.

Doodlecad is similar to the trial of omnigraffle, a little rougher on the GUI

Macdraft and Cadintosh are 2 Cad programs too, I have no idea on how to use them.

Mac is the young, cool "nerd" while PC is the medium age guy with the geeky coke-bottle glasses who really looks "nerdy"

The Mac vs PC thing has been going on for ages... I guess someday one company will buy the other and itll all be Mac or PC...

I bet the video was created on a Mac using Final Cut Pro. Mac is a state of mind.

Now I can look at my favorite airfoils on my Mac: SB96v and vs (Le Fish), SD8020 (Jart, Vector III), TP42 (Wasabi), PW51 and variants (various wings). Interesting stuff.

Thanks Reed.

tried macfoil, looks good.
But for some reason Clark Y data file opened up like a triangle?
data file from - http://www.ae.uiuc.edu/m-selig/ads/coord_database.html

strange- anyone else have this problem with macfoil?
seems to be a problem reading the data file or a bad data file.
But I'd think of all the files, a problem with Clark Y may have been noticed, no?

no- I haven't registered yet.
I'd like to understand the problem with the read of this possibly corrupt file before paying up.
