- Every time you improve the mustang settings , save them in "mustang.set".
- Now you can freely setup any other model and save settings in e.g. "other.set"
- If you are going fly with the mustang again, just "open mustang.set" to configure your TX for the mustang.

What I want to say:

- Do not use the TX as a storage device.
- Alway store acceptable settings on the PC in a ".set" file.
- You can than freely "mess things up" in the TX.....

For sure, you should always save changes to the PC.
I have only made I think 3 changes from the default.
I increment my saves since the size of the file is pretty small.
"blueray001"
"blueray002"
etc

And another one. Actually - not new - just upgraded.
MC19 fully equipped, and Added the Graupner receiver XR-20 IFS and Emitter XM-J3 IFS so I still can use the old 35MHz A-Band.
Will do my first flight test with an old airplane this Week-end... All tests though seem go so far.

Nothing unless you fly mode 2 (throttle on left)
Mode 3 tx

You know what?
The only difference is probably how they set up the default programming. Since you can change it in the SW, it does not really matter that much does it?

I just ordered a 4channel version 2 days ago and would have waited and bought this model for sure. This really sucks.

If they haven't shipped yet, contact customer support, and they may be able to make the change. I did that after-the-fact on one of my orders, and it was handled with no problems.

The difference between mode 1 and mode 2 is both software programming and hardware. Mode 1 has the throttle stick on the right, while mode 2 has the throttle stick on the left.

So if you wish to convert a radio from mode 1 to mode 2 or visa versa, you need to also swap the centering springs and throttle ratchet on the two joysticks.

I did email CS. I got a shipped notification email the next day but the tracking info doesn't show anything yet. Hopefully the # was just generated and it hasn't gone out yet.

Unfortunately their email sent a reply saying their server is having problems and they will reply in 48-72 hours.

Maybe I will try calling them.

What's the thoughts on running this unit from a 2s lipo? Seems like 3s lipo or 8x1.5V is overkill when it's regulated down to 5V anyways. Here's what I'm thinking:

1.) Add appropriate battery connector to battery tray - JST-style in my case.
2.) Modify low-voltage LED drive circuit to match new battery voltage.
3.) I assume the std 7805-type regulator will cut out as battery voltage drops much below 8V, which is a problem for 2s lipo operation. So...what about swapping out the on-board regulators for low drop-out or switching types. The TO220 regulator should be easy for the average guy to swap out, but that smaller one may be more of an issue.

In the end, reduced thermal load on the regulator circuits, extended battery life, and a 2s rather than 3s battery are all advantages of making these mods. Any comments from the electronics hackers in the crowd?

Agree.

Have a look at this post and this one (A note for modders...)

In order to improve efficiency, a switching regulator would be much better than a linear one (in this case you can also use 3s lipo with almost same efficiency). A suitable part for this mod would be this one, also avaliable at ebay
