Probably not. Every house around you is using 2.4 ghz cordless telephones, and that doesn't affect much.

Then again you're not carrying around a 2.4 GHz cordless phone inches away from the receiver in your airplane.

Actually, as long as the receiver front end doesn't get overloaded, the old FlySky radio system stands a better chance of working with 2.4 GHz wireless video FPV cameras because it doesn't frequency hop. The newer V2 radios do frequency hop, which means they're going to spend a lot of time in the video interference.

2.4 GHz camera video takes up about half the band. The older (V1) FlySky radios simply picked a clear frequency to use. So if you fire up your camera first, then turn on your transmitter, the transmitter will see what part of the band is being used, then come up on an unused frequency.

The new V2 stuff will probably come up as well, but for the time it's hopping its frequencies in the video interference, your receiver latency will go way up.

Did anyone post any flight performance info on the HK systems. I'm seriously looking at it because I am cheap so-and-so, but only if it works.

I use them ALOT.
However, my opinion is that they are such a "moving target" that someone else's data is not too useful.
The first issue is that there is sometimes significant variability in a batch of motors that the performance varies.
The other issue is that the mfg. sometimes makes significant changes in the design and it is sold as the same model motor - so even more variability.

I buy my HK motors and label them with a number unique to me and test them all to catalog all my motors. Then I select what I need from the box and hope that they haven't changed

Help! Part number needed

Waaayy back, in post #989 on page 66 of this thread...

mis_b provided a spiffy circuit diagram to modify the voltage detection for the HK T6A transmitter.

On that diagram is a device (which appears to be a zener diode) labeled "4U7".

What kind of device is it?

I can't find (ie., Google) anything called a 4U7 that makes sense. If it is a zener, what voltage and current should it be?

Thanks in advance -

John in Texas

Re Part number needed

Hi, John in Texas,

The zener diode in mis_b's circuit is 4v7. This means a 4.7 volt zener diode; the v indicating where the decimal point lies.

You may wish to view my post #1626 0n page 109 where I have posted two small circuit mods.

Regards, GL1000 John in Aquitaine

I understand it's a 4.7 volts zener (link to post#989).

A Big Texas THANK YOU!!

MoFl and PJG - Thank you for clearing that up for me. That was a bit of nomenclature that is new to me!

Thanks too for the head's up on the changes. Now I'm off to Radio Shack...

Sorry, Rasty, but this isn't a Futaba thread.

May I suggest you post your question in the Radio Forum as a new thread.

One for sale

I have one with the Palm V and another radio for parts. Both are V1...no Rx's. Maybe someone can use it.

Ari.
Interesting iter,
For $25 you can buy a new TX/RX V2, and a stack of V2 Rx'ers for about $12 a piece from HK, If you already have a chord, it's only worthwhile if you dont want to change the system.

I guess if you are in USA you will save the postal costs too.

just my two penneth.
