GWS MT-1 & Digital servos.

Can this unit be programmed to test digital servos also?

I don't know: the manual is terrible.

There are likely functions I still have not found, but it doesn't seem to have the ability to actively program as opposed to test.

Did you find the product useful? The prop rpm problem aside, do you think it will be useful to test servos before putting the on a heli or plank?

Absolutely: I've used servo testers for years to center servos during mounting-not using the transmitter and receiver is very, very useful!

The tachometer issue is a disappointment, but....

garymcc,

MT-1 was designed to test servos that applied PWM from 0.8 or 0.9 ms - 2.1 or 2.2 ms. Digital servos normally applied the same.

I think he ALSO wants to know if digital servo "values" can be changed with the MT-1, not merely tested.

Any chance of a warranty replacement for mine so that I can get a functioning tach?

Thank you. I understand the MT-1 pulse width and frequency can be set to exercise a digital servo. Perhaps I stated my question poorly. I want only to be able to run or exercise a digital servo, that is what I meant by "test" the servo. Sorry for the imprecise phrase. I could not remember what the pulse specs were for digital vs. analog as this is normally not an issue for me.
I plan to purchase the MT-1.
By the way, I have a GWS Slow Stick and I think it is a very good product. It is a very relaxing plane to fly and easy to repair. I also have a GWS TM400 still in the box.
Thanks again.

Hi Hymyankel,

Have you tried to meausre the RPM by applying a stable electric light, ie. the 100W bulb, to see if it still does not work well for you? Be sure to keep it away from any flash/possible flash lights. Would you let me know of your findings. Thank you.

Hi Garymcc,

Thank you for your good supports made for GWS. You'll find out that TM400 is more fantastic in the air.

I'm afraid that you have to further program the Digital servos by using the programming card or equivalent as the card tells differently from what MT-1 does. For your reference GWS Digital servos works much better than normal analog ones, http://www.gwsus.com/english/product...ub%20micro.htm
though the said sevo programming card has not been available yet.

I have TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE COMBINATION: it is neither reliable nor repeatable.

Would you contact service@gwsus.com if you're from USA or Canada. Otherwise contact service@gws.com.tw , we have to further inspect your MT-1.

I'll contact the U.S. office, but I will not pay shipping: Caliber Hobby charged me $10 (about double what priority should cost) to ship it, and if I have to pay $5 more, well, it just is not worth it.

It's a good servo tester, and the price is "o.k." at $30, BUT RIGHT NOW I'D NEVER RECOMMEND IT as a tach. If it goes to $40, there are better values out there.

In any event, $10 for shipping is far too much!

Were I to pay more in postage, it would be good money after bad.

Mt-1

I received my MT-1 and it appears to be as good as advertised. The RPM function appears to work. I will have more time to test it this weekend. I have already found 1 bad 3.7g Mystery servo in a lot of 6 I purchased. It is very useful to be able to exercise these small servos before putting them in the Fire Fox 200 heli I am building.
