February 2009 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order on Monday February 9, 2009 at 7:02 pm by President, Matthew Cramer.
19 members were present. Secretary’s report: The January meeting minutes were read and approved. Treasurer’s report: The January treasurer’s report was read and approved Sod Farm Field Report: The field is closed for the season. Quarry Field Report: There is still about 8" of snow on the field. Please stay on the road as the weather warms up and the ground becomes softer. The entrance gate lock combination has been changed. The shed lock will be changed soon. Indoor Flying Report: The next Indoor flying session at Player’s Choice will try to be scheduled on the February 14th weekend and will be announced on the club forum. Old Business: Show and Auction Report: Tim Stadler passed around a volunteer sign-up sheet for the Show and Auction. Help is needed for set-up, and various duties during the show. Help is needed starting at 7:00 am to prepare for the show opening at 9:00 am. The Wave will take care of tear-down and clean-up. Plan on bringing lots of models for display. Flight simulators are needed. Advertising is on target. Raffle prizes are being donated by various companies. Members are encouraged to ask for raffle prize donations from their favorite vendors. Prizes purchased by the club will be selected at Galaxy Science and Hobby by club members on Wednesday evening February 11th at 7:00 pm. New Business: Chris Zangl was elected as the new Vice President. Tim Stadler was appointed as Safety Coordinator for Quarry Field. Chris Zangl, with assistance from Andy Koschmann, was appointed as Flight Instructor. Announcements: The February Silent Flight Special Interest Group meeting will be held on Thursday February 19th at 7:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church 900 N. Mason Street in Appleton. The 7th Annual Wisconsin Silent Flight Conference will held on Saturday February 21st. See http://www.flyvam.com for details. There will be indoor flying at Riverside Elementary School in Fond du Lac on Friday February 13th from 6:30 to 9:00pm for micro flyers only. Planes must weigh one ounce or less. March 2009 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order on Monday March 9, 2009 at 7:00 pm by Vice President, Chris Zangl.
16 members were present. Secretary’s report: The February meeting minutes were read and approved. Treasurer’s report: The February treasurer’s report was read and approved Sod Farm Field Report: The field is closed for the season. Quarry Field Report: No reported activity. Old Business: Tim Stadler reported on the 2009 Show and Auction. Discussion followed concerning the date for the 2010 Show and Auction. Motion: To move the show back to the original date of the first Sunday in March. Motion approved. A letter was received from the AMA confirming our club’s continuing Gold Leader Club status. New Business: The installation of an American flag at Quarry field was discussed. Tim Stadler will update the club handbook and the revision will be available on-line at www.flyvam.com The AMA Introductory Pilot Program was presented by Tim Stadler.
