noobflyer - this one was me piloting. Andrew is much better.

There are many vendors for 6S 5000mah lipos, we hook up two in series to get 12S 5000mah.

Nice flight Ben... My favorite song !

and (to date) my favorite 3DHS airframe.... Witnessed AJ beating
it into submission at the Ohio Huckfest.

Can't wait to see the pics of the yellow version

Smbc - On 12S, I really think about 75A is necessary on my outrunner setups to be happy with the airplane, which is around 3200 watts. This allows you to pull vertically out of hover.

The same thing can be done on 10S, but you'd need to pull approx 90amps for the same power level.

To have reasonable flight time and not beat the packs up, I'd recommend using 6000-7000mah packs.

All of this analysis is based upon 3D flight, requiring straight-up vertical acceleration. This is where we get the 3000-3300Watt figure, it equates to 150-170 watts per pound. If someone only wanted to sport fly, you could do that at 150 watts per pound or even less.

So for sport flying this A/C what would you suggest for a power combo on 10s?

For an outrunner, either a Hacker A60-16L or an A60-14L.

For an ESC, the same Castle Creations 110HV.

A 10S pack that totals at least 6000mah.

I'd plan on some prop testing on the ground to find the right prop to draw 65+ amps but not more than 80 or so (things start to get warm, and there's no need for that on a sport plane). I'm expecting in the range of 22x14 - 24x12.
