Yay! Going flying after 3 1/2 months!

Just heard that my flying site is open after 3 1/2 months of closure due to Foot and Mouth Disease. Woohooo! I can finally go fly again - I was having serious 'withdrawal symptoms'!

Happy flyin'

Great news!. Must be a relief for all you guys on the other side of the pond.

Does this mean the F&M crisis has passed?

Ben,

Glad to hear that your site is open too. It seems to have been an age since we had our open but 2 weeks ago it was given the O.K.
Now, with a membership of 150+ we were expecting a hoard of frustrated flyers to descend on the field so I waited a couple of hours before I ventured down there. How wrong I was, there was a grand total of 8,the next day 10! It was great that we had the sky to ourselves but we had been taking a lot of grief that the club hadn't been doing enough to get us back on the field. Like they say, theres nowt queerer than folk.
The sun is shining again this morning so maybe we will get a few more turning up, not me though because I have to work. No sympathy needed though because on Monday I retire so I'm hoping for a nice long hot summer.

Rgds Gordon....
