Plane #6 Matt's Straight Wing Sport Jet
Not wanting to give up, I took the delta jet's wings and promptly cut them off I purchased the Profili2 airfoil software and learned how to build a "real" wing.
I picked out an SD6060 aifoil, cut out the ribs, spars, etc. and made a nice straight 48" wing. I then morphed this wing on to the delta's airframe and made a tail section for it. Also had to lengthen the nose a bit to get the CG correct.
It flew great! Had a slight twist to the wing, so at high speeds I had to give it a little bit of aileron to compensate, but other than that, WOW, this thing just floated along with very little power required.
It was recently decommissioned and just sits on the shelf....I may take the wing and make a slowflyer out of it someday......
