Freedom Flyer Question

Saw this plane in Backyard Flyer. Anyone know anything about it?

Thanks in advance.

I just got my Freedom flyer today and am impressed with the quality of the parts. 1 extra wing, 1 extra tail, 1 extra battery, 2 extra propellers. The extra parts are included not because of any quality problems but this is an entry level plane and you might bang it up a little.

I have not flown it yet but all the testimonials I have read say it is an easy plane to learn with. This does not mean that veteran pilots won't have fun with it because it can do several maneuvers such as loops and inverted flight.

I have not seen any wing area or total weights yet but will try to measure and weigh it tomorrow.

I will move this thread to the parkflyer forum in the ezone. I think you will have more luck with answers there then here in the fuel section.

I posted a pictorial review about my first assembly of the Freedom Flyer at the RCUniverse Forum and you can see it here:

Nah, I think the fuse just points the wrong way :P

Nice looking plane though!

Nope the wing is on the right way.

It flairs up and back at the tips.

I took this pic standing in front of the plane and the angle creates an optical illusion.

Still haven't flown it. Waiting till next weekend when I am on vacation at my old flying buddy's house in North Carolina.

Will have a flying report about theFreedom Flyer after I get home.

I think your wing is on backwards. In the illustration on your instruction manual, the stripes on the tail and wing should be swept the same way, also take a look at the picture I found on a retailer's site:

Just pullin' your leg.

I was in a hurry to get the plane together before it got too dark to take the picture.

I noticed it that night when I took it apart, hoped nobody would notice.

Got me!

Will take another pic later and correct posts then.

Hey, it's not as bad as hooking up ailerons backwards, like I've done before. Talk about a Doh! moment.

I took another picture of the completed Freedom Flyer. I think I got the wing on right this time.

I hope I don't make that mistake at the flying field, but it might make for interesting posts here on the forum

By the way, the wing is reinforced on the top with a thin "Splint" under tape. It looks about the size of a paint stir stick you get from the paint store.

Hummm.... Might be a good idea for any styrofoam wing if it dosen't already have a stiffener.

There is also a 1/2" piece of reinforced packing tape on the bottom of the wing.

Whizzard, looks a lot cooler now!

Has anyone else noted the resemblance to the Graupner Terry?
