Hi, Sanders
cables supplied with Ezosd measuring 25 cm, not 40 cm! The GPS is integrated with Ezosd therefore no possibility of removal of 15 cm more! Zoltan propose me to update the firmware to solve the problem satellites, but problem with the uploader Sometimes I connect the lipo ezosd sensor lights, then turns off ! I disconnect and then reconnect the battery lipo and then starts looking for satellites ... starnge ... My TX is 500 mW: http://www.fpvsystems.com/index.php?...products_id=43 look the attachements files thank's for your tech support |

Jdm66,
It looks like you're using your EzOSD in a window frame? It really needs a clear view of the sky to get a quick lock, take it out to the field and redo the test. All currently shipping EzOSDs have the same firmware, hence despite what Zoltan says a firmware upgrade will not likely solve your issue. I don't know that Tx, it looks like a copy of ours, which could mean they used an inferior solution for the switching power supply possibly causing for massive switching residu on the supply line affecting the EzOSD. I'd try a different transmitter and redo the testing in an open field to see whether that improves things. If not, your GPS receiver could be defective as a small number of these GPS receivers (manufactured by Locosys) don't always work reliably. Cheers, Sander. |

kk I'll send you an email. I just installed the ezosd in my easy* and did a few flights, it seems to be working perfectly, I like how the information is displayed. Ive always used a separate battery pack for my video gear but this time I used the power outlet on the current sensor, ran it through an anyvolt micro reg and wired my tx/ camera with it and I dont get any lines in my video. Its really easy to setup the osd with the 3 buttons. I'm waiting for the pan & tilt from servocity to install the antenna tracker, I cant wait to try it! good job on the ezosd |

I tried the EZosd in my Easyglider first. I use a 900mhz tx and the GPS receiver had some problem to acquire satellittes. The tx was very close to the osd, so I removed the heatshrink on the EZosd and remove the GPS from the EZosd and extend the GPS wire to install it on the tail boom. After that it had work well most of the time
My Easyglider was boring to fly so I decide to install it in my brand new Easystar this week and had time to make some flight with it today. Everything had work very well today but I made only two flights due to high wind. It's very simple to install even if I use a non ImmersionRC tx. Simple to use also. I like the Flight log appear at the end of the flight but when I do test and I want to land and take-off again, the flight log appear and I must unplug the battery an wait the gps to aquire satellites. Is it possible to add in the menu the possibility to have or not have the flight log appear at landing? It would be preferable to have the GPS outside the OSD with long wire. |

Tracking antenna
I want something easy to use at the feild. So I bought a little project box and put everything inside it, the antenna tracker module from ImmersionRC, the pan and tilt servos mount from Servocity reccommend in the manual and also a battery to power the tracker and the 900Mhz video/audio receiver, but this one is locate outside the box. The antenna tracker box and the receiver are mount on a tripod and easy to transport. At the feild, I have only one switch for power and press few button and the antenna tracker is ready to work.
I tried it only few times, not enough to give a conclusion. One flight at my club and peoples say the antenna was following the plane, two flights alone and i was checking from the corner of my eye and the antenna never look to point in the other direction, and one time yesterday with not very good result. Yesterday it was very cloudy and a lot of humidity, the antenna had problem to follow, it was following the plane, but the antenna was slow to react and jump to new location. It look obvious to me the GPS onboard had problem to acquire satellitte so antenna tracker can not stay on track with the plane. I still not try tofly with it, I presently use the antenna on my headset to fly, I'm still not sure if I can trust it... edit (July 25): I got problem with transmission of telemetry, I got 2-500mW, 900mhz tx and 2 200mW 900mhz tx and with all thoses tx I don't receive good telemetry data on ground so the antenna do not follow the plane. It had work one day for three flights in a row, but I can not reproduce it. It could be the receiver the problem. I put this project on the side, I got others projects to do, this one can wait. One thing I hate with tripod is the video cable between me and him... before I forget the cable and start to walk and the tripod fall, I will install a 2.4ghz video Tx on the tripod that will retransmit the signal receive. Presently my headset have a 900mhz receiver, but I have an idea to add when I need an external 2.4Ghz receiver on my headset. So at the feild it will very easy to setup everything, just open the tripod leg, power it on et voilà it will ready to use. Caliration of anenna tracker is neccessary only when I take-off from another place, but if I use the same feild, it's not neccessary, I just have to direct the antenna tripod in the same direction. |

That's a awesome looking setup.
Just a heads up to anyone purchasing the pan and tilt recommended by immersionrc from servocity. When you add the pan unit to your cart it offers to have it pre-assembled for $30. It also shows the thing being made out of plastic. I choose to assemble it myself and save $30 but when I received it I discover it is made out of aluminum and already assembled and ready to use! |

Hi, Sanders
I did a test without connecting the TX in the street. The GPS still does not find satellites. VRflyer "It would be preferable to have the GPS outside the OSD with long wire." I agree with VRflyer I also regret that the Ezosd not monitoring the feeding of the TX and camera. I may have fallen on the wrong version! FPV practiced it wins .... |
