This is such an awesome plane. So much fun to fly because it's so stable and does a very convincing impersonation of a 40%. Hope you guys enjoy them.

I think my setup, the ZDZ, makes the a lot of sense up here in the thin air. You can fly it next time we're out. At our altitude (halfway to the sun!), the larger engine is necessary. Clearly, the 50 works great lower.

BTW, you guys are going to love this model. Fantastic flying airplane.

Tim,

Thanks for starting the thread on the 89" Slick. I cannot wait for this plane to hit the market and have people fly it. I'm very pleased with how it is flying. Ben and the crew at 3DHS did another wonderful job bringing something I put on paper to life.

It is very similar to the 51".
We changed 1 thing to make it fly just a little bit better than the 51" wing.

Next,

How big is the 89" Slick??

This is how she compares to my 35% 103" Daltion. Please not that the Slick is just as long to slightly longer than the Dalton, and the rudder is definitely taller. Pretty freakin' big for a 50cc plane.

A look inside the cavernous fuselage. Note (just like the 87" SHP) the carbon fiber wing tube sleeve and the canister ready design. Also, just like the 87" SHP, the CF tube to house the elevator servo extensions for clean install.

Hardware package: note the free bottle and drinking straw per MLT .

This is how I hinge mine. I use gorilla glue and oil of some sort (silicone lubricant in this case).

1) Put the gorilla glue in each hole (already pre-drilled and marked for you)

2) Bend the hinge, and dip it in the cup of lubricant

3) Dab it off on paper towel

4) Insert into the holes

Note the massive deflections of the elevator .
