Coming to visit New Zealand

The wife and I are planning a 21 day trip to New Zealand with the intention of getting to know the place and a possible relocation. I would like to meet some model fliers and get some advice on the country and the move there, maybe have a pint or two in the process. Feel free to offer up anything you think I might need to know.
