Which RC system go more far away ???
Hello to you all.
2.4 system or 72 system.
some friends told me that the 2.4 system
not reliable beyond the 1 Km .
The 72 system can go beyond 2 Km with no problems.
It is true ???

all conventional RC systems are designed for VISUAL range,
so that means how far can the users normally see their planes,
and then they have designed a bit of margin in there.
when you want to fly FPV you have the possibility to fly much futher away,
this uses all the safety margin they have designed into the RC range, and then you get into trouble.
normally I would expect a 72MHz system to perform longer than a 2.4Ghz stock system, but achived range depends on many factors, so the same person needs to make several installations and test flights to really tell what perform the best.
if your goal is long range FPV I suggest you think different, and dont use stock radios
like this system:
but again, why not start with your stock radio and perfect the video link
and perfect your FPV skils first, then later come back and look on my long range system, it can be connected to large antennas and big and strong poweramplifiers cheaply available to give you any range you can dream of, 10km 50km 100km what do you want, we have it.

This is a video of my latest flight :
I do not think that my FPV skills present any problem …
Now I use futaba 9CHP 72 system and I thinking to
Convert it to the 2.4 model.
thanks for your response

>I do not think that my FPV skills present any problem
I am sorry, that was not my intention to let you think like that,
I just think that normal (short) radio range can still be funny and a challenging,
but you are way pass that level :-) and now you seek more range to make it more funny, cool, I will be here, when you need me..

Sokii good one…
Thomasscherrer. noting to be sorry.
Can you suggest me how can I make
My system to reach 2 Km with no interference !

I doubled the length on my antenna also and noticed a huge increase in range. I use a Futaba r138dp pcm rx. I have my antenna pointing straight down though.

as initial lenght to start the experiments, canyou suggest somthing for the Futaba R-149DP in 35mhz?
antenna lenght calculator... interesting:
do I need any special cable to do an antenna or any electric cable is ok?
