I have been flying off the snow a lot this winter but keep getting shut down by high winds, sooooo we all know our combat spads are comfortable in winds up to 30 mph, so lets put skis on them and get out and fly.

Quarry Field Update

It was so nice out today I stopped by the Quarry Field for a little flying. Quite a bit of snow yet and lots of water. But several nice dry spots for some hand launch flying.

Here are some photos:

Has anyone flown the F86 Sabre micro yet? Just curious about the flight characteristics. It seems like its pretty fast? Does it fly well at lower throttle levels too?

i have two of them and they fly well. make sure the battery is as far forward as it will go.
the launch is the most inportant. just a light toss like your throwing a dart without moving your whole arm. just the fore arm is good. do not try to throw it like a paper plane. thumb and middle finger behind the wings and open your hand a bit to release. the motor has good power and will practically get it flying as it leaves your hand. rudder is responsive and the ailerons can fool you. low rates are reccommended.
the tail feathers are fragile, so avoid getting them fouled up with the launch.
it will handle up to a 12 mph wind well.

Field conditions

I was at the field today and it's a little soggy in spots with standing water in one low area. Very flyable though
