Hi Stu,

It looks like Hobby People has removed the Colibri from their website. It might not be available anymore.

Art Hobby Colibri

Hi,

I already have a Monarch, but was looking
for a lighter non-compitition HLG when I
happened to come across the colibri in the
Hobby People magazine. I'm saving up to
it. 89 bux is a good deal for me. If anyone has any building tips, or anything else to let me know about the Colibri, please do.

Hey Stu,
Check out this site http://www.arthobby.com/glidersUS.htm

I have been slobbering over the Colibri for some time now. Should be ordering one in the next month or two! You've got good taste in HLG's!

Art Hobby sent me a video of the Colibri being discus or tip launched to a very impressive height. All of their gliders seem to be very high quality.

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to get a hold of Art Hobby? I tried calling the phone number (Spot Industries) on the website, but got a private party. Do they still import the kits? I'm interested in buying some of their other gliders. Thanks.

I've had a Colibri for several months now. I really like it. I built it as per the plans in 2 lazy days. Used a 110mah batt., CS21's and FMA micro RX. After seeing mine fly my buddy bought one as well These guys can be easily launched over 50 feet up, and with a decent head wind I swear you can get over 75 feet. This plane is just great. Incredably durable, the only damage done to my plane has been from hangar rash, it simply doesn't weigh enough to hurt itself. It's very light and nimble, but you can still push down the nose and scoot. Flying in 0-25mph winds is no problem. We regular catch our planes for landings. Sometimes you can have 10 flights in a row without having to pick up you plane

Do you side arm launch it or do you throw it javalin style?
What's it weigh?

After seeing it side arm launched in the Art Hobby video I know how I'd launch it! Hard to judge exactly how high the launch was from the video but I'm guessing close to around 75-100 feet.
