The radio gear is set up standard mode 2. Throttle and Rudder on the Left stick and Elevator and Aileron on the right stick. The Stock radio does the job really well. Please always range check it before flying of course. If you plan on doing any high altitude thermal soaring, I suggest going to like a 2.4 system. She thermals really well. Power assisted thermal soaring is so much fun! If you have any issues with the product, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thanks for that info Pete. I'm gonna pass on the 2.4 though.
I bought a Hi-Tec Optic 6 @ 72 mghz to replace the short range radio that
was included with the GP Spectra select. I figure if i replace the reciever
with one compatable with my TX, I can run both ailerons down at the same
time to give me flaps. I've got a feeling with 7.2 oz wing loading, It's gonna
be a floater and with the small and tall-tree bordered fields that i fly from,
I'm going to need them.

Cool stuff Lee! About 5 years ago I worked on the team of engineers that redesigned the transmission for the real Comanche. That program being canceled was a damn shame

Nice flight, Lee. I saw your heli bobbed up and down a little. Does your transmitter have a throttle spring? If it does you could try to remove it. I've had some helis that bobbed, then I just removed the spring. Now they fly pretty good.

This tx dosn't have a springed throttle. It is just my dumb left thumb. Ha ha. I know now that I had a bad gear tooth. Well actually two bad teeth. She is parked for the moment while I figuere out what to do. Oh and I too, remove any throttle springs on any heli that has one. Thanks for the compliment. -Lee

Wow isvana, that was an awesome story. What a writeup. Thank you. I've never thought of retreiving rc planes and helicopters. Mostely I have had to just get cats. I Love all animals, and that story made me smile. Great work everybody involved. attaboys out to all. -Lee

ROFLMAO!!! Lee, I had been spending all this time chasing down and reading all the other threads about heli's trying to figure out where you got your name... (Thinking you must crash into those trees alot.) then I started reading these threads. Now I know, and I have to tell ya brother. I so feel ya. As an ex-Army boy, I have been all over the world. As a jack of all trades I held a lot of jobs, and when times got really tough, I went to BK to get free crackers and ketchup packets for food or trapped food just to eat. Now that my life is starting to turn around a little I have to admit I feel a kindred to the tree guy in GA. I myself miss my life in the hills of Tennessee. When the time comes that I can pay you back for all that you have done for me. I would be honored if you would let me do that. I am already paying forward... I ended up with Daulphin wheels with my heli for some reason, and I am sending a pair to a new friend in need. I still have another set of rear wheels if you know of anyone who needs them. As for your Sherman Heli maybe you have it posted somewhere and I missed it, but I would love to see pics.
