the pilots were really good during freestyle... but the 3DX competition was purely by the book.. Most of the fliers were doing K1.5 - K3 moves... Its really hard to perform by the book maneuvers... But for the first time its really nice to see 3DX coming here at the Philippines...

I was comparing prices and I noticed that CopterX seems to have developed BA parts for a 600 size Heli! They seem to have stocked them since March, but does this mean we will see a CX600 black angel soon?

It was planned before that a CX600 class heli will be coming out. But this was suppose to be released late last year early 2011. I guess the first parts that came out was the FBL head parts as upgrades for the 50 class helis.

The CX600 heli heads are well machined.. and the dimensions fits the new age FBL electronics.

At one time last year Ehirobo mentioned that a CX BA 500 class was also in the works, I haven't heard a peep about that about 8 months or so.

i have no info that there will be a CX BA 500 that will come out..but if its as good as the Black angel 450.. my gosh that will be a great heli to fly...

my 12t motor pinion is damaged and I only have a 15t spare. does anybody run a 15t on the BA with a 3550kv motor? I have the CX 430L motor on my bird.

I'd appreciate any comments.

I think you will be way over geared using a 15T. You are looking at around 4700 head speed with that configuration, not to mention all of the amps you will be drawing, you may run the risk of burning up your speed controller and puffing your batteries.

I would wait and get another 12T pinion and not run the risk of damaging the electronics.

sorry Zeta. I meant 3550 kv (not 4550). the head speed would be in the 3200 range with a 15t according to my calculations.

Okay what I know about FBL is dangerous, but would a BA style swashplate be required if you are using CoperX FBL? I thought the swash was unique to the Black Angel, and is the main part not compatable with Trex?

I am using the stock swashplate on my BA with FBL head. It works fine with the swashplate. I dont know if the swash will have some effect with the performance of the FBL head. But I am sure the design of the head does have a great effect on the performance of the heli specially the position of the link arms on the blade grips as the FBL system requires the right amount of arm length.

You should be OK then. Remember though that the higher up you go in pinions the more amps you'll draw so make sure your batteries are up to it.

I haven't had a crash with the BA for a long time. This one wasn't hard, but it hit the ground just right to break both frame halves.

I think my ESC is faulty because what happened is that the low voltage warning turned on about 2 minutes in to the flight. Unfortunately it went on when I was 1/2 way in to a loop, I was able to get the heli upright again but not well enough for a softer landing.

On your picture I see then you use KBD paddle. I have a Black Angel and in this moment i look for this paddle. What you think about this one. There are a big difference between the original Black Angel paddel??
