RV OSD and Dragon OSD - so near to being Really good!

As a general observation, development on the Dragon appears to have ceased and we have the new RV OSD. Both are very capable bits of kit for what they are - an OSD with GUH feature. It is such a shame that no provision is being made for attitude feedback via a gyro board such as one made by Sparkfun.

If this was done - well its gottaa be a winning combination as a basic and cost effective autopilot??

Ok guys which one is gonna be first!!

The development on the Dragon is did not cease, it is just being put off for other bigger things. You can be sure the Dragon is not dead yet...

What is the price of estimated time you ask? Well I guess it would be a lot if they had it their way to help get things going faster. Seriously now, as for any new stuff with IF Dragon, it could be a matter of time or a bit more. The company is going through a new and improved transformation right now.

Dragon is well conceived and super reliable, so well worth the wait. Paparazzi is there with a stable autopilot,(it must be if it can handle a Funjet!!) if you want to build it yourself and have the skills, although ready made is apparently available for $600 or so, but I feel even with the ready made version there will be specialist knowledge required and the real experts on the project aren't all that accessible for learners I have found. Once you are contributing to the project it is different I guess.
For me, one of the many good points of the Dragon is the separate GPS, which gives more flexibility in terms of installation and isolation from sources of RF interference.
