After much trial and tribulation...I finally (!!) managed to properly maiden mine this evening. Landings weren't the prettiest, but the plane came home in just as good as condition as before I left.

When it is all assembled I simple drill through the wood and foam using the landing gear bracket as a guide and use 2 nuts and bolts with washers to hold it all secure. Use nuts and bolts so you can remove for access, (do not glue old battery door on plane.)

So i ordered 2200 mah 4S nano's

Alltough managed to break again front wheel strut .... fourth time
So decided that rebuild is in order and made it taildragger
Also made big 4" front wheels from some blue foam ( inspired by Mackey sq2 )

Also worth of mentioning - i have NOT flown a plane yet .... ever - but i have 8 - 9 atempt videos witch all end in crashes

I'm totally new to the hobby and picked up this plane from HobbyTown USA. Particularly for those starting out, they will find the nose gear needs replacing the most. I've damaged my nose gear three times, and was able to repair it every time by straightening the metal shaft with a table clamp and gluing the servo arm (which broke initially).

With the first crash, I also bent the motor shaft and had to replace the motor. After that, I decided to go with the Multiplex Easy Star to practice flying and landings. After several flights, I took my Cessna 182 Skylane back up and had a blast!

It flies like a dream; very stable! Loving it!

We had the maiden flight at the NEFI at AMA HQ! I used the DX8 and all was fine. I needed to trim it out and had some trouble so a fellow pilot named Greg trimmed me out and all was well. It landed in a slight crosswind and flared perfectly! It was a pillow soft landing!

This plane rocks! Horizon fixed the DX6i. Too bad it caused the first plane to crash holding the throttle open and screwing up the landing approaches and then causing a stall that flew him into the powerline. At first I thought he was just coming in too hot, but after checking everything and then the radio it was obvious you can't land a Cessna on full power!

BTW, NEFI rocked!!! It was a great day!!! Check it out next year!!!

Horizon came through today with a Horizon Hobby credit for the plane. They can't do a refund but they credited my buddy for the price of the Cessna. I wonder what he will get?! LOL
