Anybody swapped out the wheels yet? The stock tires are too hard. Even with a decent landing the shock will often move the steering wire throwing the nose wheel off center. Have to pull the wing off to realign it at the servo attach point. Starting to get a rattle from the wheel pants as well. All is tight. Considering just pulling the wheel pants off then if need be go to a slightly larger and softer tire.

I have the stock wheels with over 100 landings on them. They are very hard and mine are almost worn off completely. I guess I am agreeing with you, that is it getting to be that time. New tires sometime soon.

My LED on the tail is somewhat burried in the tail since I made my last inverted touch and go on a Camp Pendleton helicopter Landing Zone, LZ53. Still loving this plane, especially with the 480 up front. It is a rocket, but still slows to a crawl for landings.

Someone mentioned that it tip stalls if you get it too slow. That is a correct statement. It will, so you have to watch it and be ready to punch the throttle if it begins to dip a wing. After a bit you will be able to tell about how far you have pushed the limit.

My biggest issue so far is the nose wheel steering. I broke the arm some time ago, and have since rigged it but if I land hard the wheel will flip past 90 degrees and lock. My fault totally, but it is annoying.

I have a new vid and will post soon after loading on yt. I have experienced a spin stall with this to the ground. Mind your airspeed (have vid of that too). The landing gear... I needed something more. I beefed her right up and made her a tail dragger. Talk about a rigid plane now...

Would like to see the tail dragger. May be my direction as well. What size wheels/tires did you use and from which vendor?

Not sure if I want to go that in depth yet. First I'll try slightly larger and softer tires. Would like to retain the scale look of wheel pants but that ain't gonna happen if I increase tire size. Got a new Mustang due in tomorrow so I'll play with this one as time permits. Will pass on my results.

I think the bigger ones, closer to the 2" mark. I am going to try some dubro softies pretty soon it may help absorb the rocks.

This was my second plane and still one of my favorites. I hadn't flown it for a year so i took it out a couple weeks ago. Had a surprise at the end of the flight!

What gave it away? Crewchief for every bit of it. Notice a lot of F-4's on the wall?
