Yes we can! Great Victory Speech from President-elect Obama.

I found President-elect Obama's victory speech to be very inspirational. If this is what we can expect from him in the future, then that future will be very bright indeed!

Yes we can, America. Yes we can!

Absolutely outstanding speech!

The optimism, historic perspective and patriotism in his speech was inspiring and consoling.

As someone who was very attracted to Obama until I learned more about his policies, I'm somehow still happy that we finally have someone who can speak well and show some leadership.

How does the speech change things for the better, assuming the change he was pushing for was for the positive?

It's just talk!

IF is only if.

How can you get your hopes up so high over a speech?

A speech is only words, are you even a little scepticle?

I still have a hard time with the fact that it was never proven that Obama is even legally eligible to be an American president.

A historic day in American history is correct! I hope and pray that we all don't rue the day that you folks decided to put him in office.

I thank God that I am not supporting my family with money that I earn at a coal mine since Obama doesn't have a favorable view on them.

His policies as stated by him aren't to receptive of the industy that does pay the bills around this house either. Lucky for you, your life is not greatly affected by the trucking industry.

I agree, his speech tonight was very very moving..

Indy- You say how we can get our hopes up so high over a speech?? JFK, Martin Luther King Jr, Abraham Lincoln all made speeches about what they wanted to do or see done. Or even to rally the people together. Did you notice what happened over the past 8 years behind a president who cant speak? lol

Still just words.

I will stand by and wait to see some action out of him before I go feelin all inspired and stuff.

Black or white, he just a man. Smooth talker or not, he is just a man.

People are saying this is some kind of proof that America has changed. By electing a democrat for President the country has changed?

We have had demecrat Presidents in the past. How is this one so different? Oh yeah...because he is black right?

Sorry, in my eyes, he is just a man.

I was around in the days of John F. Kennedy, and can relate to the overwhelmingly powerful feeling of hope he imparted to this country of ours.

As one who was 'there', I can honestly state that President elect Obama is not only reminiscent of Kennedy...but will prove to be the Kennedy of the 21st century.

This is the proudest I have ever felt in my life to be an American...

Oh my God! Thats just what we need more Kennedy's!!

If Obama is the next JFK who do you wager is the next Marilyn Monroe?

By the way my proudest moment of being an American was when I enlisted in the United States Navy. Nothing will ever compare to that day. Especially a speech from any Presidential elect.

The problem I have with this guy is his continual statements in support of the idea that people exist to serve some noble goal. no. our lives are ours, not the States, and not other citizens. what i get from these speeches is the gist of a secular religion seeking to serve some 'higher' goal. if you want that, there is always church.
