Steampunk-themed plane?

Anyone out there built or flying a steampunk-themed or inspired plane?

I'd love to see any examples.

I think this would be a good candidate with some faux engraving:

Errr, as I'm over 21 years old, (actually, rather a lot over), could you explain what 'steampunk-themed' means?

The early planes do look good, and there are quite a few. Watch 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' dvd sometime.

Wikipedia to the rescue:

I think steampunk has become more popular lately as a rebellion against the mass-produced modern designs and products of today. And then there's the nostalgia factor.

This doesn't precisely fit the 'punk' genre, but might be an interesting modeling subject. Flying tea kettle?

Over in the foamies section someone did the dick dastardly plane from the cartoon. It has a cartoonish homemade steampunk flavor to it.

If you search for 'fantasy models' in Foamies (Scratchbuilt) there's a massive thread with stuff like that in.

Perhaps these would fit that style, Fantasy Aircraft.

I always enjoyed flying the fantasy models in FMS, sort of helicopter/autogyro things.
