since it always comes up in other 120E plane threads , i thought id start one to discuss the 90-120E class offering that 3DHS is considering. so far i have gathered it will be ~70" and CAN fly on 6s 5000 packs. any thoughts on if this will be an electric only?

It would make sense for it to be Electric only, here's my reasoning.

If it can be used for either it will be heavier than it could be for Electric only

If it was designed to take the vibrations of Glow some would want to fit a small gasser, this would screw up the flight performance and test the structural integrity to the limit. 3DHS would be held responsible by the user regardless of the fact they didn't follow the recommendations

on 10-15 mph wind days , its sure nice to take a bigger plane. a 70" will still fit easily in a SUV. any estimates on price? ~$400??

Guys - we've got a couple of projects going in this size range. I can't release details yet, but I can say that Mike gave a good summation of the reasons to do a dedicated electric. The reason not to do a dedicated electric is the roughly 1,000,000 sets of leftover Funtana components floating around the Earth looking for a better airplane to go into.

Back to the secret lab...

oh yah, a 70" slick AND velox would be nice!

i can understand the market place for a electric/glow hybrid. i recently went to an old field i used to fly at a lot and everybody was still flying glow.

lets make the slick the electric only

my 68" maxair velox flies great, but its just too heavy. i hoping 8s will be the "powerful" setup on these bad boys
