Easy come easy go I guess.. You would see me part with my entire 450 fleet before I let the Ricco go.. (the thought has already crossed my mind, and I might just do that once I get my hands on my Sniper V2)

Have a ricco on the way. Everything I've read about this heli tells me it's one of the best if not the best micro sized heli out there. I'm really looking forward to long flight times, something I haven't enjoyed since my honeybee cp. Can't wait to build and fly!

Welcome to the happy camper club, the Ricco is true to it's claims... Tons of power, light, agile , and yep long run times, very long run times.. All that I think it has a unique look that sets it apart from a lot of the "me to" helis out there.

I'm pulling about 700mah out of a 1350mah 3-cell after a good 10-12min of cruising in my backyard, it's simply amazing.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll let you know how build goes and I'll get back with a flight report when she's up and running. I've always liked this size heli--it's the size I learned on. For some reason just hadn't started to think about it until someone mentioned the Maxir in the Protos owners thread.

build

Can you tell me what tools I'll need for the build? Size of hex drivers, CA, etc? Any special tools needed?

You will need CA for the tail grip pins. A nice Philips screw-driver for the self-tapping frame screws, and a 1.5mm hex driver for various bolts, feather shaft screws, main blade grips, paddles, and mixer arms.

Soldering iron for the motor - ESC bullet connectors.

File for a few swipes on the bottom tail box assembly encase tail pinions are not completely free-spinning.

Question about the one way bearing. How do you get it into the hub?

Press it in with a vice. (Letters visible - bottom) Make sure it is COMPETELY in, if not, the main gear will be offset (high) in the frames....

Thanks Pete.
It turns out I don't have a vice. Will any vice do? Can anyone recommend a vice that would do the job, that I could get, say, from Lowes or Home Depot? or from my LHS?

Try a neighbor. If that fails, try at a Harbor Freight store. They should have a cheap one..

Thanks. A friend at work just recommended harbor freight. Never heard of it.
I would want a vice that has a smooth surface, right?
