Nice boat!

Please define real fast.
What's in the boat now: motor ESC, battery?
What's the size of the boat?
How quick is it now?

What's your budget?

Regards, Jan.

And, most importantly, have you ever driven any RC vehicle over 30mph before?

Is the hull ABS or fiberglass?

It's fiberglass, so at least the hull would be able to go fast, don't know about the driver....

Did you read this?
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...ight=Arpro+700

Ignore the steering outdrive part, as it doesn't apply to the Arpro 700.

Should you go for a faster inrunner motor and a decent prop (not the flexing stock one), keep in mind you will flip it every once and a while.
The hull has room for it, so I'd think about installing a floodchamber, to make it selfrighting.

that lipo pack would worry me...to me it is borderline on amp rating vs possible amp draw for the stock boat, any mods would probably demand to much of it. however since the motor has a 'low' kv rating...a fix that might solve the slow speed and battery worries would be, get a pair of 2s(7.4v) 25c 4800mah packs and run them in series to get 14.8v. that should get the boat moving and enough pack capacity to handle most mods/upgrades

The search function and google should cover most 'resources'.

Please make an effort to fill in your profile completely, it 'talks' easier.

thanks for the vote of confidence D. it is difficult to reccomend good sites when we don't know whether you are in the U.S. or somewhere else in the world.
that said, for folks in north America, cheapbatterypacks.com does have some decent batteries

For all intents and purposes, I would get some LiPos from http://www.hobbycity.com

They have the lowest prices around, and will ship worldwide.

Normally for a boat, the minimum I would recommend is 4Ah and 25C. The best setup for this boat (because it is light) would be somewhere around 3.5Ah 20C 3S1P lipos.

If you want the boat to balance good, then get two 3S 1.8Ah 20C lipos to run in parallel for a total of 3.6Ah.

Put one battery on each side of the drive shaft, and the radio equipment in the center.

Leave room to adjust the batteries fore and aft for CG adjustment.
