Some results concerning my first test of a HY (Haoye) propeller
Andre (ADB2) bought by Hobby King
Model 9x3.8 , blade shape in the style slow fly (elliptical shape)
Front : Hy 228.6 x 88.9 ; 9x3.8
Back : Haoye
weight 8.5 g
Colour : black
Material : ?? black nylon or some polymer ??
Surface a little "grainy" or "granited" (I don't know the right word in english)
Hole 6mm + partial 8.1 mm (for the ring)
5 Rings : OD 8.10 mm ; ID : 2.9 ; 3.1 ; 3.95 ; 4.9 ; 5.9 mm
I used the ring 5.9 mm on a 6mm collet adapter. Slightly "forcing" but good
The central external cylinder diameter is around 12.9 mm, so remaining meat in the central crown is (12.9-6)/2 = 3.4 mm
Cylinder axial height = 7.35 mm
General stiffness = comparable to GWS black HD props
I have tested on a Hacker A30-10L up to 12000 rpm, no problem
I have not tested airflow velocity nor spatial distribution.
Results are also translated in formulas .. see graphs
Note that absorbed power is not estimated from dyno testings
(I have none dyno bench)
Just via Power In minus losses (iron losses, copper losses, estimated ESC losses)

108,000rpm/diameter without disintegration - perhaps about the same as GWS HD, and a lot better than a 9x3.8 APC SF (stated limit 65,000rpm/diam). I wonder how it compares with an E-flite (those seem a bit tougher than APC SF).

I have to say I really like the way Louis adjusts his formulas and parameters to get best curves fitting to measured data, having seem him doing it.
