...so...the 55" Edge wont be ready with these 40" and 47"?

I'm looking for X-mas presents. The 55" Edge will be available by then?

... all available at the same time, or roughly the same time. Ben and I shot photos for the 55" Edge manual today (albeit a couple of states apart). I expect that all three will be released before the end of November.

Doc,

I haven't had too much stick time on the 47" Edge, but from the little that I could glimmer, it basically expanded on all of the SHP's low and slow goodness. I can't comment on durability , but harriers, and other things like that are just awesome with the Edge.

That's going to come in handy with my harrier and hover practise. I've really been working the harriers for awhile and it's actually been a lot of fun. I've seen the video of the little Edge and it looks like it really locks into a groove when you harrier it. Should be a good plane for me. I think it will compliment my SR and Velox really well. Those three seem like they would make a teriffic lineup.

Is the 47" Edge designed around a 3s 2200 pack with a light motor and a 13x6.5 prop?

What is the weight of the air frame, if anyone knows? Thanks...

It's similar in size and weight to the Velox and 47" SHP, and is recommended for 3S 2200mah for a light setup and 4S 2200 for a very powerful setup. I prefer the 3S setup, myself.

I'm going to go with the Torque 2818 and Thunder Power's new Pro-Lite 2600 packs. They weigh the same as a 2200 Extreme pack, so I'm getting the extra capacity with no weight gain.

I've also got some 3s 2200 extreme packs that have been laying around since my Mini Ultra Stick days (the dark ages). Since my 3D is getting better, I can probably get away with less punch out power, so I'll give it a shot.

With the 3s I can run a 14/7 because it's starting to get cool out, and that's 2.5 inches more prop than the 11.5/5 I'm running on 4s. That's going to give me a bunch more vectored thrust, and maybe that will keep me from getting into so much trouble to start with.

If I start to get into a heat problem, I can always scale back to a 13.6/5, and that's still a lot more diameter to spread the vectored thrust around. I've run 3s and this prop before, and even in the Florida summer it's a very safe combination.

Lots of hijinx (Ben), great videography (thanks Ryan!), and average flying by yours truly.

HA! Nice. You need to go lower in the blender next time. I didn't see any grass in the elevator balances.

Really nice flying Scott. Your DOD TR's were definately worth watching the video twice. Very impressive.

How does the 47" edge compair to the Velox as far as no wing rock in upright harrier and ease of hovering. Looks pretty solid in the video but that's with Scott flying it.

He can hover a 747. Thanks...
