47" Edge received the 9 year old seal of approval

IPS jr asked to fly the 47" Edge today. He's been flying his 3s Slick since Sept. I told him the Edge, also 3s, flies very similar to his Slick just lighter. He really liked it. He was working on tail drags with his Slick today. He was getting it done with the Edge on the first flight. Looks like I'll be adding another one to our hanger.

Great job Ben & Scott.

Hey Doc Austin,

Another nice video. Very nice hovering work. I also like the slow motion sections. Based on the comments I read in your Blog, a lot of people like this plane. It is definately my favorite!

FYI, my 40" Edge should be here Monday. Do you have yours yet? Unfortunately, I didn't get to fly the 47" plane Friday or Saturday (off on a little mini-vacation) and today was way too windy. As conciliation though, I'm getting everything ready for my 40" Edge build!

My video was the second one. All the nice hovering work in the first video was done by Mike Elder.

Not yet. All I've got right now are servos.

I'll bet lots of foilks are getting both sizes. I got to fly Ken Elder's 40" and that's why I bought one. Check my blog for the story and video.

Thanks for catching that. Building, writing, photographing, photoshopping, flying, video editing, blog formatting.....my eyes are shot so I probably made more than a few errors.

Thank Gawd for the editing feature.

Sounds like a rough job.

I'm jealous.

Just got mine today The green is way better than I thought!! Only issue so far is the dang wheel collars both were striped in both holes Other than that it is going together great!! I always spend hours trying to get the tail lined up but this one I measured both sides to fuse, then measured to wing and checked level with wing. Took all of 15 minutes it was perfect!! All I have left is to install radio gear and cowl. I have only spent 2 hours this is going to be a record assembly for me

My wing bolts wont tighten They just keep spinning. I tried the wing bolts from my slick but they still dont work. So I made sure the blind nuts were seated well and were. Its the blind nuts What size are they so I can replace, or would metal bolts work without changing the blind nuts?

Metal screws (M4 - 4mm) are a good temporary fix, we're in Dallas for the weekend, glad to send you whatever you need on Monday.
