Well, my steering motor observations were based on holding a plastic metric ruler up to the frame but today when I compare it to a 4mm Plantraco motor it appears that it is a short can 4mm motor. Sorry, you'll have to wait for younger eyes and better measuring devices for more accurate data. Bill

So reviews so far seem pretty positive. I hope I can wait until boxing day to get it
![]() SO how much easier is it to fly indoors in comparison to the vamp? I still have my vamp, great toy once you lower the angle of the tail. |

Well I just picked up one of these at The Source for $69.99 CAD and I have to say that I am not too impressed by the flight characteristics. Personally I like the iVAMP much better. It is an incredible achievement that it is so small and it does fly. BUT the controls are not responsive. I think because it is IR controller. Often you can let go of the throttle and the wings keep on flapping until goes out of range or crashes. Maybe I have a defective one, but out of the box it does not fly that well. Has anyone noticed this too?
I think it does have a lot of potential to mod it for a regular RC controller. It does have a lot of lift from its flapping wings so I am sure it can take some more weight.cheers! ian |

flies better without front guard
Well, i've had a chance to play around with this micro ornithopter and I am amazed how small this thing is. The "micro" factor is the only reason why I'm keeping it. It does fly better if you remove the front guard. Has more lift and you can slow the flap rate down so it does not fly as fast. In my opinion you don't really need the guard as this ornithopter is so small nothing is likely to break in a crash.
