That's not bad, I can wait. I've already spent so much money on other micro rc vehicles Hmm maybe I'll wait and see the reviews first as well.

Bad news dear friends , i have received this answer from Managing Director
Flying Toys Limited:

Dear Max,

The Da Vinci Ornithopter that you have seen in a magazine is a pre-production sample.

We are unable to supply this product in the foreseeable future.

With apologies.

Best regards
Well that's not a good sign. I noticed that it's not on the ITC web site either. If Hammacher cancels Bill's order I guess we'll know it's dead.

Went past my local 'the source' to find that they have received replacement wings for the mav davinci and expect to receive the toy anytime now. They also got the new duck hunter toy from ITC so things are looking up.

Was it the "Duck Hunter" (free flight version) or "Duck Hunter Extreme" (R/C version)? I found the DH at a few places, but never did find the DHE through retail outlets. I ended up buying it through the ITC web site via replacement parts. My son loves it, he shoots while I fly

Nope, no transmitter with it. I agree, it seems like it would be way more fun to have someone else controlling the duck.

The Mav is now in stock at 'the source' in Whitehorse, Yukon. I held the box in my hands. It comes with an extra set of wings. It is priced at $69.99 CDN which is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. I'd sooner buy a BL conversion set for my big lama than spend that much on this thing. I've waited this long so I'm going to continue to do so. I'm sure it'll be down to $40 or $50 by X-mas.

Ohhh, that's crazy! I would have paid $100 for one if it were in front of me. Somehow i don't think they will be in Australia anytime soon.

I talked to Petter at KIEF and he said they were having manufacturing problems as far as getting them all consistent and flying correctly. They will probably slowly be getting to all the chain stores but it could take a while.

It's Here!!

Well, the DaVinci Mav finally arrived this morning They do exist!! Attached are pics of the box etc. Also a very short shaky vid of the first flight out of the box with no charge to prove that do actually fly. It's a fast little thing! I'll try to get better vid after I get it trimmed. It looks like it will be a great little flyer and it was worth waiting for!, Bill
