Hereís an older article that will offer some assistance:

Flying the same planes these days on a pack of A123-4S; these let you recharge in minutes so less packs/time is needed Ė the 7 or so minutes flights work well for training.

There are a couple of RTF options too:

Here are some motors to cinsider based being similar to the Jeti 45-3 & BP3520-7 Iíve used:
Scorpion: S-3032-12, 686 Kv
Dualsky: XM4260CA-5, 680 Kv
E-Flite: Power 46, 670 Kv
Hacker: A40-10S, 750 Kv
HXT: 42-60, 600 Kv
RimFire: 42-60-600

The DS 4260-680 with an AC 14x7E will haul your trainer with unlimited vertical on 4S! It hauls my Hyperion Super Chipmunk 70 with ease. Look at the AXI 2826-10/12 for 3S set ups.

I just converted my PT-40 to electric. Flies beautiful. I am really liking this changeover to electric. I never considered it much before because of the cost and short flight times. All that concern is gone with brushless/lipo and lower prices for equipment.

My conversion was:
Motor: Suppo 3520-06 (www.lightflightrc.com)
SC: Suppo 50
Batt: Rhino/Zippy 3700 4S (www.hobbycity.com)
Prop: APC 11x5.5E
Custom aluminum motor mount made from sheet aluminum. I have the pattern if anyone wants it. Easily made with shear/brake and punch or drill.

It jumps off the grass quick. I fly around for 10-12 minutes @50-75% throttle with around 1000mah left over in the pack afterwards. Easily loops from level flight at these throttle settings.

I look forward to converting ALL of my glow engine models!
