What Engine For Aero-Works Yak 54 .60 - .90
I am going to buy an Aero-Works Yak 54 .60 to .90
What engine would you guys recommend. I want to install a gas engine not glow. Any feedback would be appreciated.

you should visit the aw90-120 thread on the other forum...it'll take you a coupla hours to read through it, but you'll get a better idea what engines (gas, glow, 4-cycle) work in that plane...here's a post from that thread...ken
This plane is awesome. It can accept a wide range of engines and all seem to power it well. Here are your options:
O.S. 1.20 AX (Good power, can hover, o.k. pull-out)
O.S. 1.60 FX (Great power, can hover, good pull-out)
Saito 1.25 (Adequate power, can hover, o.k. pull-out)
Saito 1.50 (Lots of power, can hover, great pull-out)
Saito 1.80 (Lots of power, can hover well below half throttle, great pull-out) I have this set-up.
Y.S. 1.40 (Lots of power, can hover, great pull-out)
Evolution 26 (Good power, can hover, ok pull-out)
SPE 26 (Lots of power, can hover, great pull-out)
I'm sure there are more engines out there, but these seem to be the ones that people have actually used and have liked the set-ups. Basically, if you want lots of power, either go with the Y.S. 1.40, Saito 1.50, O.S 1.60, Saito 1.80, and SPE 26cc. These engines will give you lots of power. If you go gas, you will need a extra battery and you will use an ignition module, but according to Jimeni, you will have lots of power. For the Evolution, read the article below by Quique and decide.
Hope this helps in your decision. Whatever you go with, you will have lots of fun with this plane. It's that nice!
