E-flite Hawk 70mm Class EDF w/ Fiberglass Fuselage

Hey all you Hawk lovers (I'm one!!)

Look what the next EDF to be offered up by E-flite is:

BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF

Key Features

* Molded fiberglass fuselage
* Built-up balsa wing construction
* Pre-finished scale trim scheme of Central Flying School RAF BAe Hawk
* Preassembled quick access cockpit hatch
* Built-in fan mounts
* Removable landing gear
* Concealed elevator linkages
* Designed to fit the E-flite Delta-V 15 EDF unit and BL15 DF Brushless Motor
* Optional pilot figures sold separately

Overview

Designed as a trainer and light combat aircraft for use by the British Royal Air Force, the British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk was mainly used to teach air combat, air-to-air firing, air-to-ground firing, low-altitude flying techniques and operation procedures. There are currently over 900 Hawks in operation and nearly 2 million flying hours have been logged on the Hawk.

E-flite’s BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF is a sport scale version of the British trainer. Constructed of fiberglass and balsa, the fuselage is prefinished wi scale details. The Hawk boasts the rare and very visible Central Flying School airshow trim scheme from 1987 in red, white and blue.

This exciting model was designed around E-flite’s Delta V 15 (69mm) fan unit and matched 15 DF brushless motor. Pilots can use a 3-cell battery pack or utilize a 4-cell battery pack for increased vertical performance. The built-in fan mounts make installing the fan easy—just drop in the fan unit and tighten four screws. The removable front hatch also allows easy access to the radio equipment and battery. The entire trim scheme is prepainted, pre-trimmed, the wings are covered in UltraCote and all the decals have already been applied. Created for the advanced sport scale pilot, the BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF
easily lives up to its reputation of being a stable flying jet.

Says late November Rodger.

I will have to get a plane for which you make custom ducts! I'd like to try them.

A.S. you will need to make ducts and a belly pan to cover the cheater holes!
They do show parts available also which will help things a lot for you guys that like to mod stuff!

At first I thouzght it was the SAPAC hawk, but SAPAC's is bigger.

Then I took a look at the manual: it has cheaterholes just like the MIG15 from OKModel. But OK also does not have the hawk listed on it's page, seems to be an e-flite production?

Is the Delta-V fan the same one they are using in the F-16 ?

Xwing

Hmmm, think I just saw where the 16 uses the 400DF. Answers that question.

I'm a Hawk afficionado too, this offering is very close to scale, nice to see the anhedralled stabs too.
Great find Jon, but being in the UK we'll be waiting a bit longer, I gues the UK price will be hiked to 170 though, but t looks fantastic!

so that price of 159 is that with the motor and fan? i'll need a plane fast it would take a week and a half to tool up,the cheats may need to stay as the plane is smaller and thr scoops look more scale than the sapac.well see have to get our hands on one frist.

Motor and fan are not included.

Inlets are too small to make functioning ducting for the intended fan unit. We looked at doing this but decided against it. It flies pretty well as-is. Definitely faster than any of our other EDFs at this time. 4S batteries don't really give it any more speed, just better vertical performance. If you stick with 3S, you can probably get by with the 40A Pro ESC, but if you're going for 4S, you'll need the 60.

They will be leaving China in the next few days, so market availability in the latter half of November is highly probable at this point.

Hi dave! they look really good..even with out the fan(which is also inexpensive) they are still a good deal..but the hard core guys can do some nice mods to them. And I will try hard to keep up the early pics as I dropped the ball on the f16..Sorry..I will have them up with in a hour of release next time.

Looks pretty good! I like the paint job. Not bad for e-flite's first composite edf. I assume they will have retracts in the future edfs of this caliber. I hope so. But it doest look good.
Rodger the more scale intakes wont hinder a real high power edf setup. You know what Im talking about! A nice het fan and any motor putting out 1,000 watts+
