I just don’t know anywhere ells I can order the "Turbo Transmission" beside artattacksnowmobile.net. And its $96.
Anyone know of a way to mount a electric motor without the turbo transmission? Maybe just mount the motor on a aluminum plate and find a pinion/pulley for a 540 size motor?

Any ideas/help would be great!

thnx,
Jakub

Yes. its comming in the mail. I just wanto put a brushless motor in it. I Have a Align 3550kv brushless motor I want to mount to a 3-4mm aluminum plate. The belt would go from the larger pulley to the motor. No gear box so it would be like a direct drive. I just need help finding a pinion to put on the motor shaft that will work with the stock drive belt.. any ideas?

I have a 3550kv Align T-rex motor I plan on putting in the sled. With the lower 3550kv motor I think it should run fine without the gearing. Most BL motors I see used in the Art attack sleds are above 4500kv.

So any ideas for a pinion/pulley I can use on the motor? Im looking for something like this but with a Set screw: http://cgi.ebay.com/Alum-Tail-Idler-...d=p3286.c0.m14

well you could use the belt thing thats on the engine and put it on the motor and then mount the motor or you could take the belt off and get a small gear that will fit on the spur gear and on the motor and make it so it's not belt powered. i don't usually mess with electric im more of a nitro guy i just know some electric cuz i used to use them.><

Thanks for the ideas. I dont think it would be possible to put a clutch bell onto a 3mm motor shaft tho. If I cant find a pinion/pully to fit the motor shaft and work with the belt, I will try putting something like a xxx-nt spur gear on and find a pinion for it.

Anyone know if the belt from my TLT-1 crawler is the same as the artattack drive belt? if so, I think I might take the metal pully from it for now.

Anyone know if that pulley will work with the stock artattack drive belt?

Well, here are some pics of the sled converted to electric.

I ended up modifying the included gas engine clutch bell. I sanded the teeth off a pinion gear (while motor was spinning) and got it to fit perfectly into the clutch bell. I then drilled a small hole for the set screw. To mount the motor i just used some scrap aluminum for now (too thin I think).

This conversion cost me nothing. Sure beats buying the conversion gearbox for $100 which is what I paid for the sled in the first place .

Hope this is useful to anyones conversion!

I am doing similar, but with so many projects, not sure when I'll finish. Just looking, your battery and motor, too small.

Looks like the right electric gearbox is maybe 5:1? The recommended motor is 700W, 60A, 4200KV, with a gearbox. It is a 36mm motor, the one in your pics is too small. No gearbox, look for 800KV.

You will need 80AESC, 3S lipo, 2000mha, 30C type of thing.

I am guessing here, will collect real data when I have more time.

I think 700W will bend your brackets.

This might work:
